Be cautious of free

I think that's true in a general sense but not so true in the computer world. There is a very large faction (programmers included) that believe everything on the internet should be free. There aren't many applications that don't have free alternatives that work as well or even better that their "pay for" counterparts. Operating systems such as Linux, applications such as Open Office, Gimp, Spybot S&D, Grisoft AVG, and WinAmp are a few that come to mind. These programs really are too good to be true...and totally free. Outside of the computer world, I agree with you 100%. If it looks too good to be true, the scam alarm should go off automatically.
