Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "We might as well just surrender and convert to Wahhabism."

I was going to ask you this as a rhetorical question, LOL.

Well you go ahead and study up on your Arabic, but I expect us to fight on and eventually prevail. You are so defeatist, it amazes me.

How about this one?

washingtonpost.com

You know, actually getting Osama, and the people behind 9/11, not some neocon fantasy regarding Saddam and WMD.

Remember this spring offensive in the Pakistani border area--it was frontpage news a few weeks ago, and the Pentagon was telling the world that we had "cornered" the #2 guy in Al Queda. Then the entire story just kind of melted away, like the snows of the Hindu Kush I suppose. Meanwhile, we plunge our collective faces into the deep fat fryer known as Iraq.

Hawk, Most of your post makes sense, but:

Because Bin Laden and his ilk can readily point to the fact that the US has done nothing for the average Arab.

Most of the oil rich Arab nations got US dollars for their oil. They got plenty of it, and it's THEIR responsibility to do something with it for the average Arab.

As for anti-American rhetoric, we don't have to go too far for that, do we? Who needs militants?
