<<<... read in Fleckenstein's rant within the past 8 weeks.>>>

Now I know where you are coming from. Take it from someone, not quite as smart as you, ray, elm, maurice and the others, but having lived longer than any of you, permabears are losers .

They could even be (at times) more right than wrong, but in the end they are losers. They have to root against everything good that happens. They root against people who have a clear record of winning (Soros, Buffett, Gates, etc.). To bet against the Fed is pure lunacy. That is one of Wall Streets enduring truisms - don't fight the Fed .

Even when Permabears are right and they make a little money (I don't know any Permabears that have made great fortunes - is there a hall of fame for permabears?) they can't really enjoy it. How can you enjoy your wealth when your wealth depended on the sufferings of all those that have lost money?

Take it from some one that is considerably older - if you have a choice - choose optimism, choose life, choose the silver linning even when things are going badly.

For the most part you and your buddies on this thread are really smart - much smarter than people who run things - people who actually hold power. What a shame, with all the intelligence you guys have, you waste it sitting on the side lines with severe cases of cutting edge Cynicism.

Ending on a more positive note however, you guys do no harm, provide a certain amount of humor, and occassionally deliver terrific insight - providing that we are diligent enough to uncover them.

By all means continue doing what you are doing.

Mary

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the information. I haven't checked in on Fleck in a while now. I guess it's high time I did... <g>

<Yawn!!!>

Slept in this morning, a tad too late I guess... Well past morning now... <ggg>

I will put some weight to the marketing guy and the lawyer as well :0)

Perhaps... But I'd be hard pressed to find the marketing guy or the corporate lawyer on any list of insider trading... These are not extremely common positions to be classified as insiders. They have to be corporate officers or own more than 5% of the stock to be considered a reporting insider...
