You don't need to tell me, because I suspect we feel almost exactly the same about the current developments in the world. Black and white thinking is so easy, and so susceptible to error, that we should always hope that people want to rise above it. America, however, has embraced the black and white, the "good" versus "bad", the "us" versus "them". You can ALWAYS simplify things to that point, but when you do you lose all perspective, all nuance, and any semblance of "truth"- which is never more than an ideal, but which is even lost as an ideal, when black and white thinking is involved.
