ok

first things first, I did not fix the problem! - tried to erase the message but I guess you got there first. So, just about every time I get a new web page, explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe still consume the cpu for 5 seconds or so, which is totally annoying!

I have run chkdsk, defragged, run adware6, and stinger, and nothing, went to pc pitstop and they found nothing.

so I am back where I am started - any ideas? can't find anything on the web.

Bob

ps, thanks for the reply

Have been unsuccessful in running pcpitstop and am wondering if SpyBot or another program may be preventing it from working? If so, is there a way to disable SpyBot? Thanks.
