It's public relations. Duh!

I don't believe that America can win this war.

That being said I certainly don't wish any harm on our soldiers.

What you are missing here, JDN, is that the public relations when we bomb a Mosque, is something that any qualified field commander should take into account. Sorry to say it but it's public relations. We aren't going to win anything by infuriating the locals. That idea may not jibe with what the soldiers want to do in their anger but military strategy is strategy.

Sometimes in a war, brave soldiers get sacrificed because of larger strategic issues. That's one of the horrible things about it. Many GIs got killed in order to keep the allies cracking of enigma a secret in WWII.

Unfortunately that's also the price we have to be willing to pay in Iraq.

Personally I'm totally skeptical that we can pull this off. Getting the Sunni's and Shiites and Kurds to agree on a democratic govenment when the Shiites are the largest group can't be done in my opinion. That's always been one of the big lies.

The point here is that we loose and a lot of soldiers are going to get killed. And I think it's all over oil. Which we need but their are better ways to compete than war. We could start with conservation but that is too simple of an idea for those used to driving the SUV down to the Circle K for a cup of coffee.

You know who you are.
