<<Chip equip stocks to rally in next 6 mos.: WR Hambrecht (KLAC, ADEX, NANO, RTEC, AMAT, LRCX, NVLS) By Tomi Kilgore

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) - WR Hambrecht analyst Gerald Fleming expects the semiconductor equipment sector will rally in the next six months, boosted by accelerating order growth and by valuation, which has become more attractive following the sector's recent pullback. He suggests "overweighting" the chip equipment sector, as he expects demand to remain strong through 2005, and believes shares of metrology and chip inspection companies offer the most attractive growth prospects. Among metrology companies, Fleming initiated research coverage of ADE Corp. (ADEX) , Nanometrics and Rudolph Technologies (RTEC) with "buy" ratings, and KLA-Tencor (KLAC) with a "hold" rating. He also started covering Applied Materials (AMAT) , Lam Research (LRCX) and Novellus Systems (NVLS) with "hold" ratings.>>
