While I agree with the context of the statement, India is officially a secular country with no state religion.

So if someone says " Sending Christian troops from US/Europe" would be same as what you said.

In a certain way, what you said is right. People in middle east may be looking the whole issue through a religious angle only.

I thought of mentioning this.

Indian troops were used to capture Iraq in the 1930's.
British took the indian troops and captured iraq. Indian troops were about 80% (cannot find the link to confirm this)of the total troops.
For a while the indian currency "Rupee" was also the currency in Iraq after british take over
