Politicians promise a lot of stuff... but only the results matter. Seems to me though that in the recent past divided government has given us the best economic results.

Worst case, "...if..." Hairy Freakin' Kerry ever got in -- he'd immediately raise the gas taxes another dollar a gallon. The unplanned outcome would be that the great majority of the blubbering liberal BS-screamers would no longer be able to afford to drive their "..used Yugo's and rebult Honda Civics.." to the Hillary rallys....
