Thanks for the response.

I'm afraid that Kerry completely turns me off.

I like his trade policies (he is free trade). I like his fiscal responsibility. And I like that he thinks about issues and can still be very decisive.

Fiscal Responsibility - until we see what he really would like to do and how he would pay for it we have no idea if he is fiscally responsible.

I am happy with Kerry, beside we will have a Republican House and Senate ... so we will have checks on him.

Checks on him: There is some merit to this. However, the last three years have demonstrated that anything less than sixty votes in the Senate is a check. The biggest check would be to control the legislative appointees - perhaps the greatest damage he could do.

"Iraq is George Bush's Vietnam." John Dean, do you agree?

CR,

Thank you. At least you have articulated a reason for supporting Kerry.

More than the cheering section on tis thread has done.

I can respect that.

Best thing about Kerry I've heard yet from one of his supporters.

Mired in Questions About Iraq
Thursday, Apr 08, 2004; 8:41 AM

What if there are no good answers in Iraq?

So much of the debate in this country has been about mistakes the Bush administration may or may not have made: The decision to go to war in the first place. The elusive WMDs. The failure to build a stronger international coalition. And, afterward: Did we send enough troops? Should we have disbanded the Iraqi army? Why did we set June 30 as the handover date when the violence continues unabated? Did we totally underestimate the difficulty of providing security, let alone building democracy, in a post-Saddam Iraq?

Ya I remember -

"I am happy with Kerry, beside we will have a Republican House and Senate ... so we will have checks on him."

I said that makes some sense - but he also gets to appoint judges - that is frightening.
