I agree with you in principle.

However, in this instance the problem resides with one of a very few members who believe they have they right to turn any thread on this site into a soapbox for politics. The pretext of having a "quote", and I use the term loosely in this case, was simply a means to an end. The other post was nothing more than a personal attack.

Raymond and I have an understanding about this issue, so I'm sure he's not surprised.

If everyone did this, this would obviate the entire purpose of the thread! Let's stick to quotes and quotes alone; if someone wants to go on a diatribe about a vapidity du jour, there are numberous threads on SI of which they can avail themselves.
