the biggest thing that HAS to be left out of any discussions setting up the new Iraq is 'christian vs. muslim'. I really wish Mr. Bush would run a few TV spots with Muslim Americans telling about how freedom truly feels.

it cannot be denied that Catholicism became very corrupt in the Middle Ages

I think it has corruption today

seperating church and state solves that when it comes to politics

along with religious freedom - pick the religion your believe in and let others chose theirs

gee, why don't you explain why Catholicism became very corrupt in the Middle Ages.

I expect the ny times or the haters of the church back then found corrupt folks and wrote all about it. But then just as today a few very bad people who may be Catholic did evil.

If you wish to base your opinions on the rewriting of urban legends by vacant liberal minded lefty loons about what happened in the Middle Ages, well such an ignorant position is expected.

With all the wonderful bi-decade communications back then is it possible some really nasty people mislead an entire region and hid their actions.
