Not surprising there are similarities. Saddam studied der Fuhrer's methods carefully.

"Really, the West didn't care? How did you get to that conclusion?"

By reading History of WWII

Really? I think you are confusing appeasement with disinterest. The West did care what Hitler was doing but they were hoping to avoid another WW war. That's very different from "not caring".

And how is Saddam the same as Hitler?

In many ways
Both are Dictator, Using Torture to achieve political gains, Using Poisons gas to exterminate its own population, Aggression against neihbors, Similar economic structure ets.,

First of all, if there was a league for dictators, Saddam would be in the Minors while Hitler would be in the Majors.

Secondly, Saddam as dictators go was a dime a dozen. Why did we decide to take out this particular dictator when there some who are much worse....dictators in Central Africa and in Burma and South Korea come to mind?

Thirdly, we are in a war against terrorism. Saddam was a dictator that was contained. Why screw around with him when the real threat to America is al Qaeda and their various cells throughout the world.

I feel bad about that Russians are dying in Afganistan and Americans dying in Iraq

but

But what? But nothing. Those lives did not have to be forfeited. In three days, three innocent, Japanese civilians will lose their lives. This whole war is a travesty. Not only was it unnecessary, it has unleashed an evil that will be very difficult to contain. I do not want to live through a Chechnya or a Russian Afghanistan.

The madness of the Bush administration must be stopped!
