Progressive tax, where the wealthier pay the most tax makes sense.

As for them not using the public education system, maybe not directly, but their maid and gardener's kids do.

But when these kids fail due to lack of a good education, then the middle class will pay the taxes for the police and prisons needed to manage the lower class's kids who did not get an adequate education.

American incarcerates the highest percentage of it's population of any country in the world. Wouldn't an education and jobs program be more progressive than a prison system?
