This is no time to relax unless we plan to cut and run.

I don't expect GWB to cut and run. Kerry is a different story. Cut and run is his specialty. I'm not sure the current "talk period" with the insurgents will accomplish anything either. Their demand (get out Iraq) is not acceptable to the USA at this time. In reality, this may just be an effort to demonstrate reasonableness by the coalition. IMO, the sooner we kill those terrorists, the sooner the average Iraqi can get on with improving their lives.

Things will settle down after we turn over power. Then we can build a base in the north and another one in the south away from the general population. I think logistics are a big part of why we are there. We are now in striking distance of any middle eastern country that doesn't behave itself.
