Democratic deficit indeed. Parachuting an NDPer as a Liberal candidate???

There's a woman who's been campaigning for the Liberal nomination in a Calgary riding for two years, quit a thriving career to do it, but the party brass won't set a date for a nomination meeting because they're still hoping a 'star' candidate will surface for the riding. They're treating this incredibly dedicated (even if she is IMO misguided <g>) woman like crap. They had two or three 'star' candidates running here last time, all of whom got whupped.

Vancouver South happens to be my riding. Its my feeling that our candidate has a better than 50% chance at the moment given the Liberal and NDP vote will be partially split on the Dosanjh defection. Demographics will play a part as well.

Not such a bad thing to have a bit of momentum out of the gate and a stumbling visible candidate.
