Why should you need evidence to see that abstinence produces better results than throwing rubbers and abortion chamber's phone numbers at the kids?

As far as adult women...majority of their abortions are elective....no competition or danger of mucking up their careers....

Of course the problem with this little demand is that it assumes some inherent impossibility in abstinence, some defect over current policy in reducing illegitimacy. Put another way, it assumes what is only of the remotest possibility.

If one doesn't have sex, one doesn't get pregnant; and, save for the Virgin Birth this is true 100% of the time. No other approach can boast of this certainty. So the issue has little to do with the quality of abstinence as a solution. It obviously is the solution. The issue concerns how best to influence children toward the only solution that is guaranteed to work. I submit that having unfaithful parents, handing out condoms and teaching children how to have sex are not sensible approaches here. We should now work to help the children reach their potential for discipline and self-respect. There was a time when teenage pregnancy was nowhere near current levels, even when accounting for hidden cases. So obviously it is possible for vast numbers of children to abstain from sex until marriage, assuring that they will not ever have to suffer the pain of bearing a child out of wedlock.
