As they say, "..a country boy can survive..". As may be noted from the previous power outages in NYC, urban society simply grabs the nearest bottle and some nookie, then lock themselves in their high-rise bedrooms "..waiting to be saved.." by the Delivery Boy once the lights come back on.

With two big fireplaces, an air-solar system, a wind mill, a 4x4, the required gasoline-powered accessories, and a brace of suitable firearms and fishing gear - it "..ain't no thang.." to us out here in the country. It's also nice to see how many homes have their own power when an ice storm takes the lines down for a few days.

Certainly beats living in terror should Winn-Dixie, 7-11, etc., be shut down for a few weeks.

Per your closure, precisley. And, everyone around my place generally cehcks in on each other when things are abnormal for more than a day or so. That way we make certain that the old folks have their lardors properly stocked, and we know if they need a lift into see the Doc, etc., if they aren't cell-phone equipped.

John :-)
