A recent issue of the San Diego Union Tribune had a lengthy non-business story about Woody Norris. It offers some valuable insight into the man's business accumen, though.

The story was on the loss of his residence in the Cedar fire.

I don't know if that was known here - Norris' home ($4M? $4.5?) was completely demolished in the fire.

He also had recently purchased the property next door, which had a house a workshop on the propety. He said he bought it "because he liked the workshop - where an inventor can tinker", but didn't care much for the house.

The workshop was the only structure to survive. While his main house was insured, he didn't bother to insure the house next door, since he didn't like the house anyway.

Yes, the loss of the house is sad. What is sadder is the man's poor business sense (leaving the >$1M house uninsured) and the fact that shareholders will just cover the loss in the next infusion of cash from fresh sheep.
