Some of my best friends and many endeared relatives are the conservatives of my nightmares. Think Matlin v. Carville at my Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not asking you to join the crowd. But the internet media does deprive us of the correct sense of inflection, and I do write more in the manner of speech patterns than traditional expository (hence my frequent use of the ellipsis....). My "thoughts" are focused on the collective mindset and expounded philosophy of internet personae, not individuals. As to where I deposit my cutting send-ups, thoughtful rebuttals and hot-headed ankle-biting polemics, I don't distinguish one very popular thread from another as much as you might...especially with the architecture of SI allowing members free access to all public posts. Besides, you are a highly visible and devoted thread head while I am most of the time but a smirking lurker with a few hundred posts in 7 years here. You need a thick hide...I'm sure you got one. On a tangentially related subject, someone needs to remind GWB that it wasn't until shortly after he conquered Iraq that Alexander the Great declared himself a God. We are hoping George does not view that as precedent.
