I both enjoyed and was frustrated by the nicely written and poorly edited When God is Pro War & Other Delicacies that you linked. While anyone familiar with Goethe, appreciates the pseudonym Werther, my particular "sorrow" stems from the listing of "all eight traits". We get the first three enumerated at the beginning of paragraphs: 1. Leader worship: 2. Rugged individualism - except 3. Chickenhawk militarism: Then things start to deteriorate. # 4 is oddly buried inside a paragraph. 4. Crackpot pseudoreligion: Then collapse. # 5 doesn't exist, and #6, 7 and 8 are again embedded. 6. Big government: 7. America first! 8. Crony capitalism: Scrutiny leads me to believe that # 5 is 5. Foreign policy messianism but I'm not positive. It's sad to see a good article marred by such a hack job of editing. JMO lurqer
