The problem is that he is a typical politician and doesn't want to open himself to criticism.

Seeing how Bush is coming back with allowing Condi to testify and now releasing the PBD after initial resistance i tend to conclude as follows about Bush:

He is not a crook but he is an idiot.

About Kerry and his refusal to address issues directly leads me to conclude this about Kerry.

He is a crook but he is not an idiot.

So take your pick. Kerr has the ground to make up and rid himself of the image of a crook and be direct with people and come up with specific plans. Bush has had a record already where he has failed to perform on all fronts. Except that he people still believe that he is a honest person. But he is not a smart and intelligent man.
