Now, what I have found after the fact--and I presented this to Dr. Kay this morning in the Senate Armed Services Committee--is there was a vigorous dispute within the intelligence community as to what the CIA had concluded was accurate about those UAVs and about their ability to be used elsewhere outside of Iraq. Not only was it invigorous dispute, there was an outright denial that the information was accurate. That was all within the intelligence community. But I didn't find that out before my vote. I wasn't told that. I wasn't told that there was a vigorous debate going on as to whether or not that was accurate information. I was given that information as if it were fact, and any reasonable person then would logically conclude that the interests of the United States and its people were in immediate jeopardy and peril. That has turned out not to be true What I glean from that is not that a baldfaced lie was told, rather, Bush sided with the CIA and in the Senators words,""any reasonable person then would logically conclude that the interests of the United States and its people were in immediate jeopardy and peril"" Now I do see his point that it was not indicated to him that there were facts in dispute but in the end, only by us going there and seeing them first hand proved what we know now. Hans Blix himself has said on O'Reilly's show he believed it was possible SHsn had 10,000 gal. of anthrax. Is HAns Blix part of Bush's team? Hardly. Now let me ask you, "What if" the CIA had been correct AND Blix had been correct in what they were telling the President and SHsn sent one of these puppies over NY whizzing some bio agents and 100's of thousands of people croaked? What would everyone be saying now? You can geta flavor of it by listening to 9/11 hearings... What I'm seeing is the Pres recieving bad intel AND having a predisposition to attack Iraq. I do not see this as a baldfaced lie though. Thanks.
