it just validates Clarke's claims. Clarke seemed sincere to me, Rice seemed corporate and rehearsed.

I think the Iraq War, and the reason why the Bush Administration was so fixated on it, is that it was always meant to be the strategic tool to give Bush legitimacy as a president, i.e., a war president. [this could explain why the Iraq War]

I mean just consider how he got elected--even Tony Blair's wife thinks he was elected illegitmately!

Also, given the way he got the presidency, it was extremely crucial for the GOPwingers to keep control of Congress and the Iraq War served this purpose as well, especially since a Democrat-controlled Congress could have reinvigorated the whole discussion as to how he got elected. [this could explain the WMD-Al Qaeda lies]

I think the Bush Administration was so affixated on Iraq that it completely dropped the ball on Bin Laden. While Bush and Cheney cronies were greasing the palms of the Taliban with 43 million dollars of aid money, this while negotiating to get the Afganhistan pipeline deal which would have served to help bail Enron out from a diastrous energy plant investment in India, the CIA was blocked from investigating what OBL was actually up to in Afghanistan. Thus, Bush bumbled and fumbled our nation into 9/11. [this could explain why Cheney won't release the information relative to the energy meeting.]

A balanced Congress would have and should have and could have impeached him! Unfortunately, it's GOPwinger-controlled.
