chinu you said...." People in general want freedom first. They want one from their own tribe to be at the helm not someone who is a foreign occupant. It gives them a national feeling of pride and most of all a true sense of freedom. I think if there is one nation in the world that understands that, it is us Americans. So to me "rebuilding Iraq" is a bunch of balloney that our Government put out. With their oil, the Iraqis are very capable of rebuilding themselves. Just get Mr. Chalabi out of there.

lets assume you are referring to Iraq OK?
Lets assume that the shia's want to have a national feeling of pride BUT there sits sadam for 30 some years with his tribe ruling. They rule because of their army of sadistic killers who are paid for by the Iraqi oil you speak of.

Now if the Iraqi's were capable of rebuilding for themselves ....just how would they do this with sadam quite willing to murder anyone who dares try.

As time passes sadam only gets more powerful and when he dies his killer sons are ready to take over the killing machine. There were many countries out there quite willing to sell sadam modern weapons with which he could rule all the tribes in Iraq. Tribes that may want that national feeling of pride you speak of.

So just how do these other tribes overthrow the sadams of the world and get their freedom if they do not get help from someone powerful enough to help them.

Perhaps you have not been paying attention but the USA and coalition partners have said they intend to turn over power to the Iraqi people this june 30.

So why not cut the occupation crap. You have just said that people want that feeling of national pride and that is what the USA is trying to do for Iraq.

The tribe that ruled for so many years don't want to give up the power they had and they are getting outside help from other countries who fear a democratic country on their borders.

It is a terrible price to pay...that even one good person should lose their life for the likes of those scum that tore apart American bodies in a crazed and brutal manner.

Maybe the answer is to give all the tribes in the area guns and let them duke it out then deal with or take care of whomever the winner is. That way some tribe over there can get that feeling of national pride you speak of.

And keep in mind that the longer that the free and civilized world ignores the sadams of the world the more powerful they become. The ME countries for the most part hate Western countries and blame us for their backwardness.

So that oil you mentioned ME oil. was it used to better the lives of ME people? better education free of radical islam teaching hate to kids?
