This got to me when I read it. The Agitator.

Pigs at the Trough

So cash-strapped Washington D.C., which can't fix its roads, adequately police its streets, or keep from poisoning its own citizens with lead-laden water, apparently can find $340 million to build an entirely taxpayer-funded baseball stadium in hopes of luring the Montreal Expos downtown.

. A couple of hundred years from now almost all of Islam will have quit hitting corpses with shoes and, instead, be facing their equivalent of gays in the mosque. It seems to me.

Why? What will make them change? Face it, the Arabs have been obsessing over their backwardness vis-a-vis the modern West for over two hundred years now, and what have they fixed?

The have imported the tools of the West but not the knowledge of how to make them or use them efficiently. They have adapted all the West's worst ideas - Socialism and Fascism, with occasional stabs at violent Nationalism, but missed the boat on Liberalism. Too indigestible for them apparently. They are now wallowing in self-pity and blame of others.

I think they are going to change the way another pride-filled culture - the Japanese - changed. After a major catastrophe. Even there the Japanese were far more likely candidates as they had already gained mastery of modern techonology, which the Arabs still don't have, except what they can buy.
