Yes, male chauvinist pigs do exist. They do oppress women, and some of them oppress some men, not all of whom are gay, for example, the macho male coaches who make life hell for boys who are no good at sports. Is LindyBill a male chauvinist pig? Probably not now, but maybe when you were younger? It wasn't at all uncommon then. I remember feeling very sorry for myself because all I could do when I grew up was become a nurse or a school teacher or a secretary. My dad, God bless him, convinced me that I could become a doctor, and then later, urged me to become a lawyer. When I was a law clerk, one of the lawyers in the firm used to grade bar exams. He told me that he graded them by smelling them. If they smelled bad (implication, black) he failed them, but on the other hand, if they smelled good (implication, female) he failed them, too. I know he was just trying to get a rise out of me. He also gave me a copy of a supposed Southern Law School final exam (Southern was, probably still is, majority black). It had stuff in it about LeRoy and Rufus and pimps and whores and welfare cadillacs and fried chicken and watermelon. I can't remember because I threw it away. Did I hate him? No, he reminded me too much of my dad, who thought stuff like that was funny, too. And his daughter went to law school, and then to work in his firm. Imagine that. That's how male chauvinism works, and that's the way around it. They want the best for their own daughters and sisters and wives (well, not all of them, some of them are too bitter). ;^)
