As you know I've been saying for some time this is Bush's to lose. Since he's doing such a good job at that, I suspect the best thing Kerry could do is not interfere. A campaign of carefully targeted rapier thrusts to highlight Bush's very obvious weaknesses, coupled with reasonable alternatives may be a winning strategy. This isn't a campaign where he's got to change a lot of peoples minds. Events are doing that nicely. If he is viewed as an acceptable alternative, that may be sufficient. Of course it doesn't address the "hold on to power at any cost" attitude that this Admin has. JMO lurqer
