That Robert Novack is a no-good liberal. How dare he tell the truth about the quagmire we're in and low troop morale.

It's one thing to see it on paper but how does the lack of troops affect the safety of troops and civilians in Iraq? Apparently, the occupation started to go down hill as early as the fall of Baghdad a year ago. Moderate Iraqis saw the looting and American soldiers guarding only the oil ministry. They then got to be treated to Rummy declaring repeatedly that the looting was no big deal and that it was the same vase theft shown over and over again.

The only thing that has changed is the infusion of American taxpayer funds somewhere (anywhere, nowhere?) and a security situation that has really eroded in the last couple of weeks.

What a mess and what a danger.

Interesting. First the White House counterterrorism experts jump ship, and now the generals are privately complaining. Maybe it's time for both Powell and Rice to do some shin-kicking on their way out of the White House--lol!

Powell should come out forthright and say he stayed on only to help advance the career of his son, now FCC head honcho. Rice should simply say, "I'm tired of dealing with oil, and this White House has gotten too greasy--I'm outta here!"
