The major media has gone from being journalists to being celebrities. Too many of them are simply too lazy to do the proper footwork. It's much easier to simply rewrite the admin's (or anyone else's) talking points or press releases. Whatever happened to scooping the competition? Now it's just checking to see if you have the exact same story as the competition but prettier talking heads and more exciting graphics.

Remember Peter Arnett was fired for saying that Bush's plans were likely to fail. OK, not exactly smart to say, good for our troops morale, but all the same, he may turn out to be right. If so, he was a smart reporter, but they smeared him and destroyed him. He's probably killed himself by now, like the guy who wrote FORTUNATE SON did. He was the one who wrote a book exposing a cocaine bust of GW's in 1972. The Bushies came after him, killed his publishing contract and accused him of being a criminal. Nesxt thing you know he shoots himself. makes me wonder if the cocaine story is the reason GW never showed up for duty in 1972.
