WMT may spend $12B to expand its stores (56.69) WMT expansion plans include the opening of 230-240 supercenter stores. WMT will fund part of the expansion by selling debt, according to an SEC filing. WMT plans to open 40-50 discount stores and add up to 25 Neighborhood Market stores in 2004, according to a spokesman. WMT will build five distribution centers to serve the new stores. --bloomberg.com
