Bob, I just added an SPX chart to the 5 year Weekly Charts on the VIX/VXO vs SOX:

investorshub.com

There very definitely is an inverse relationship in the movements but until we get prints of new highs for the SOX and SPX the short term trend for the SPX and SOX is still down with the VXO actually rising off a recent new low.

Too little fear equals too much complacency and can result in nasty sell offs. We need a wall of fear to climb.

Not a pothole full of complacency.

Thanks for the pointer to what looks like some interesting charts. It will take awhile to go through some of them.

I hope you are right on this point. We are not going to have long to wait now. By the end of this week we should have a good indication of how the market is going to react to good earnings.
