They just have had to think out their positions a little more due to having to swim against the media tide. They have never been allowed the luxury of 'knowing' that of course it must be true, every educated person thinks so. The thinkers have had to do so, I agree, and there's been a lot of good work done. The masses, though, have been required only to gather their resentment, listen to the radio, and then swap affirmation with the rest of the dittoheads thus creating a closed environment where "of course it must be true, every 'educated' person thinks so."
