I didn't mean to give the impression that I don't take your point about running on fumes. I do. Sharp thinking tends to have a life span. Remember, most of what the sharp left thinking came up with has been put in place leaving fumes or dregs or whatever you want to call it. The sharp conservative thinking is by now in it's twilight, too, I think. The movement is still vital because it hasn't filtered through society yet and there is still implementation work to do on those ideas that are actually implementable, but I don't know that there are any new ideas. And I don't know what will take its place as the next batch of sharp thinking. But something will. Meanwhile the current sharp ideas will either be implemented or abandoned as unimplementable. Probably mostly the latter based on the rate at which the current political forces are backing off or ignoring or abandoning them.
