Guilt by association isn't the first charge I'd level against Finkelstein, nor the most serious, but hanging out with Chomsky, Cogburn, Zundel and Rense is, in my opinion, very poor taste indeed. Birds of a feather -- no offense, to you, Mr. Owl.

On the new topic you raise -- what of value do you derive from Marxist criticisms of capitalism?

Hi NightOwl; Re: "Are you suggesting that Prof. Finkelstein should be painted with guilt by association?"

Okay, despite my better judgement, I'm going to find out about this "professor Finkelstein" guy...

Hey, what's the big deal? So he lived in Palo Alto? What's that got to do with the Iraq war???

Oh, maybe it's this Professor Finkelstein, the guy who lived in Palestine:

First of all, it's not looking back, I still go fairly frequently [to the Occupied Territories], I was there in June and I stay in close touch with the families of whom I write in the book. When I first went it was a moral test of the values that are meaningful to me, and I wanted to see if I could bridge the chasm between a Jew and a Palestinian based upon our common humanity and our shared commitment to justice and decency. To that extent I would say that it was a satisfying experience, because I think that we developed close and meaningful relationships.
