What a strange question. Did you misread my post?

I don't think that there was a great deal of cooperation between Saddam and Al Qaeda. I base my belief on the words of Tenet, Clarke and General Zinny who have all publicly stated that there was no connection.

My contention is that the Madrid bombing occurred because we emboldened Al Qaeda by not wiping them out when we had the chance. We should have taken out every camp, and every terrorist, and hunted them down.

We failed to get bin Laden, and I'll bet that he ordered the Madrid bombing. But worse we have given Al Qaeda more than two years to re-group and re-order, making the capture of bin Laden tomorrow much less of a prize. Strike while the iron is hot.
