During the siege at Tora Bora, already intelligence efforts had been re-directed to Iraq, along with troops and Special Forces. We were relying heavily on Afghan insurgents to corral bin Laden. That was clearly a big mistake. We should have surrounded the cave compounds and not allowed anyone to leave it or the area. We could have had those mountains saturated with troops ready to catch anyone that tried to leave.

And another thing, we should have pursued him right into Pakistan. You call Musharif and you explain to him you bring your troops in from the east we bring our troops in from the west. You tell Musharif he has two choices...cooperate or perish.

There should have been no effing around with Iraq until Al Qaeda was finished.
