Then justify his 1991 vote. I already said I don't know why he voted the way he did. I'm not one of his constituents, so I would not know. His constituency may have been heavily opposed to it, and he might not have been convinced at the time of the vote that it was necessary. didn't say it did....I said it was too early to tell. We can't say its made us less safe either Attacking Iraq has not made us any safer. If it cannot be demonstrated in any tangible way then it's a forgone conclusion that we did not get any safer because of attacking Iraq. We can say that it made us less safe, because it took critical resources away from the war in Afghanistan. Took the focus off bin Laden, which allowed him to escape and has allowed Al Qaeda to flourish, multiply and expand it's influence. I'd even say that the invasion of Iraq likely expanded the influence of Al Qaeda in the Muslim world. bin Laden himself said that the United States would try to invade an oil rich Arab nation. Now Bush made his prediction accurate. Even Rumsfeld has been second guessing these actions by asking the question, Are we killing more terrorists then we are creating? It's a question that was asked too late, and it has an answer that has chilling consequences. We need to get Bush out of office. We need cool heads that speak softly, but carry a big stick. And when we apply the stick it going to be quick and decisive. With a fully conceived plan of before during and after. Not this half baked wing it as you go crap that Bush has fostered. Orca
