No, a lie is a deliberate avoidance of the facts.
Facts are what actually happens, the truth. Interpretation is either spin or opinion. I am perfectly willing to admit facts which are not to my liking. The question is, are you? In the past 10 years especially, the rightwing has deliberately tried to argue away too many facts, using lies, distortions, cover ups and spin. The other side does it too but to a much lesser extent. Some spin is expected in politics. But the facts remain. for instance, Bush's lying TV ads. In time the truth will come out and once again expose the Bushies as liars.
