I agree, how could he talk about the 8/6/01 PDB and say Bush didn't know anything, all in the same sentance?!? There seems to be a logical disconnect in his reasoning.

The 8/6/01 PDB clearly spelled out the government's concerns about Osama Bin Laden and stated that 70 FBI investigations were ongoing into Bin Laden's contacts in the U.S. How could the President not have known anything was up when 70 seperate FBI investigations are underway all focused on Bin Laden minions and their potential terrorist activities.

Perhaps the Prez dropped the ball and just thought it was one of many threats to our country. More likely, he saw it as a way to further the "America Uber Alles" agenda of the neocons who were happy to be back in power and at the helm of the mighty U.S. War Machine once again, after 8 years in the wilderness. Pearl Harbor in the making. A chance to finally assert America's dominance over the oil rich regions of Central Asia and the Middle East. That's mighty tempting for an imperialist group like the neocons, who's only purpose in life is to plunder the world's resources for a wealthy few. What do they care if a few poor souls lose their lives in the process.

Re: Raimondo repeatedly claims Bush did know nothin in the article. The concept is ludicrous.

And what's even more ludicrous is the very title of this thread --your thread: Bush-The Mastermind behind 9/11?

What makes it so ludicrous is not so much its conflating "Bush" and "9/11" in the same phrase as its hinting that Bush was a "Mastermind" --LOL! Get real, Don: since when is it up to the President of the United States to "mastermind" anything???? "Masterminding" things and events is not --and never was-- part of a President's job! I mean, the Prez HIRES people to mastermind plots, subplots, and counterplots... Thousands of wonks, analysts, spooks, special advisers, and bureaucrats are paid to "mastermind" things.... The US splurges billions of dollars annually on a dozen of white-collar sweatshops like the CIA, NSA, DIA, FBI whose tasks are precisely to "mastermind" intelligence schemes!

The President and his top advisers are merely in charge of the PR side --especially when some intelligence plot was so badly "masterminded" that it sets off a major political crisis (think of 911). In that case, the Prez does mastermind the "crisis management" of a political fiasco... resulting from an intelligence screwup....
