If you claim you will not change your mind, your mind is closed. You wrote: "nothing you say will change my mind". That is the definition of a closed mind.

On the other hand, I am a lifelong Republican. I defended Bush for about the first year and a half of his term. It became painfully obvious that he is a terrible President. Bush is secretive, inarticulate, demonstrates poor judgment, admits to not reading, never takes responsibility, is an ideologue, is intellectually lazy, is indifferent to the deaths of our troops, etc.

As the information changes, I am willing to change my mind. Even though I am a Republican, I am an American first.

That is the definition of an open mind.
