"Bush bet his presidency on Iraq, if things get worse over there he will lose. " I agree. Bush bet his presidency on Iraq. It appears everything they thought would happen has failed. His time to get some kind of control over Iraq and better security for out troops is running out. In order for Bush to be re-elected he has to convince independents , swing voters and moderate republicans his plans will succeed. However, if body counts are still going on and no one sees progress he is in deep trouble. However, unless Kerry comes up with a plan the public can accept , it will go down to the wire.
