How tight is the Mullahs control in iran?
"I don't think anyone really knows. They don't have popular support, but who knows? "

If they are behind the dual revolts in iraq, I would think we should be helping the dissidents there in some fashion. It's risky business I know, but deposing the Mullahs is probably just as important as nailing bin laden.

"Sure, there have been many mistakes. But anybody who says he would have done better is almost surely just whislin' Dixie."

Not a good enough answer Nadine. We yell about accountability all day about numerous things. The failure to provide enough troops, anticipate pourous borders, and kill the bastards when we had them on the ropes last year is understandable in the fog of war but certainly not grounds for promotion. Sometimes a president needs to send a message. A resignation or a firing here wouldnt hurt. Bush has a sense of loyalty which is admirable but not helping him win this election which is what politics is all about. Cheney gains him nothing as VP candidate. Rummy has become a sort of pathetic figure. Rove and Hughes achieved a tie in the last election and the best they can hope for now is another tie with kerry. All these ties tell us that between gore, kerry and bush, we have three of the most unattractive candidates ever. Bush would be alot more attractive if he brought in some new blood that would appeal to independents and moderates.
