Joan, T. Rowe Price's New Era came out in the last commodity bull market, mid-1970s. It has always been a so-so performer, which makes it superb compared to most of its competition, which died in the long haul. The thing I don't like is that a lot of the resource exposure is in large processors, i.e., Exxon, IP, and even users, like Wal-Mart. There is nothing wrong with those names, but I prefer a bit purer resource play. Ivy Global is the best, but they expense the heck out of the shareholder.
