Gregor..........let's hope not am down e'nuff on my closed-end funds........at least I sold out of PFD which had become a real bloated piggie..........my only success today was flipping HCN ..........it appeared Richs' 553 on ^RMS held today.........FWIW....JIM

I am not familiar with the holdings of FRIFX nor FRESX. I avoid mutual funds (except a few close end funds). The open end ones seem to collapse on themselves if a run of redemptions starts and there isn't enough cash.
I do think very few traders play with preferreds since you can't get large blocks, and there is frequently a huge spread. Preferred holders are probably true investors looking for yield, who would welcome a drop in principle as they continue to buy more every few months.
