<< Seems someone in the 50's transplanted some Florida Largemouth Bass there and the bass seem to have taken quite well to their new environment. >>

The Florida strain seems to get the biggest. Cuba has some lakes with them and a lot have been stocked in California where they feed on stocked trout.

<<Oh, Lordy! I got a thrill from a 5-1/2 lb'er once.>>

I get a thrill from a 1 pound panfish through the ice on 2 pound test. Caught a 175 pound Marlin once, more work than thrill. I thought the daym thing was going to kill me when it cleared the water right at the stern.

My objective this year is catching a carp over 10 pounds on a 5 weight fly rod.
