I know other "things" are going on, but nominally we went into Fallujah in force because of what happened to four American mercenaries. The ironic result:

At least 80 foreign mercenaries - security guards recruited from the US, Europe and South Africa and working for American companies - have been killed in the past eight days.

That number 80 is interesting. It's larger than the number of days left before the "handover".

On another ironic note, I'm watching CNN report on Halliburton drivers that quit their jobs in Iraq, and came home. Wonder if Cheney (and others in favor of privatizing the military) ever considered that.

Notice how that article abuses the term "coaltion". The so-called "coalition" is really just the US and Britain with a few others providing a handful of troops in response to US bribes and threats.
