>>> The PDB revealed another very fascinating item—the analyst who wrote the piece had access to details about FBI investigations. This is something I never had access to when I was writing PDBs. It was forbidden territory. In other words, Bill Clinton has opened some level of cooperation between the FBI and CIA. The FBI, in a break with tradition, was telling the CIA what it was doing in some measure. Unfortunately, with the benefit of hindsight, not enough was shared.<<<

Geez, the GOPwinger spin doesn't seem to indicate this. I think most people who've been watching the news probably think the opposite, that the FBI and CIA didn't cross-reference information.

Let's face it. Bush, and his energy handlers, were deep the doo (or oil goo), negotiating the pipeline with the Taliban, thinking the Taliban--already greased with 43 million in aid and keen on having the Afghanistan sanctions lifted--would eventually hand over Bin Laden and, thus, Bush was prepared to sustain what he probably perceived would be a minor Al Qaeda attack against the US, because he knew he could trump such an incident by bringing Saddam (then America's oldest truest villain) down from a successful invasion of Iraq. Moreover, Clinton got reelected after the first World Trade Center bombing, so why would this politically hurt Bush?

The PDB was a mere inconvience and the president kept with his golf plans, probably spilling out homo and anti-hillary jokes while riding merrily in his golf cart.

Of course, the other matter discounted in the Bush thinking, besides the enormity of the Twin Towers/Pentagon tragedy, has become the genuine and god-blessed persistence from the widows of the 9/11 victims! When it comes to oil and people? Bush picks oil! That's it in a nutshell!!!

Let's decode the PDB a little further:

The author says the PDB is issued in response to "presidential request", as if Junior had any curiosity or involvement in running the country, rather than doing what Cheney tells him. The puppet presidential request was in fact used just prior to 9/11 as the highest-level gov't command to flush out exactly what all agencies saw as the state of bin Laden surveillance immediately prior to the planned attack.

That's why the FBI data is included. The shocking number of 70 agents programs following the upcoming attack is being denied as of this afternoon, but isn't unlikely for such an important event. The 9/11 Commission should subpoena all such agents; but won't, of course, along with Gen Meyers and NORAD tapes. Eventually, if all else fails, they'll get to the "gee, we were just having an exercise, and coincidentally bin Laden took advantage of it".
