Iraq is the West's chance to plant a desperately needed Democracy in middle of oppressive Mid-east cultures. Once there's an example in the region, it will spread & then the youth will be more concerned with becoming educated & buying a car than blowing up buildings & killing innocent people (in the name of their warped brand of religion).

I think he descibed the war in Iraq as just one more important step in the battle against islam terrorists NOT THE battle to save western civilization.
