I notice that you did not respond to my critique that you (like kholt) think of yourself as non-partisan, despite the fact that you are liberal, precisely because you are liberal. I didn't respond because I thought you were simply trying to be funny. I definitely don't think of myself as non-partisan; that would be to no longer care about politics as a medium for social change. I definitely care. We bandy words back and forth here--partisan, frames, ideological, etc. Whatever the words, the worst sin in my book is to stop thinking, to choose the story line to fit the ideology. I visit here every once in a while not because I'm a masochist, though I wonder at times, nor because I learn from folk here. Well, that's a bit harsh. I do learn from some of the material posted here; some of Bill's articles, some of the stuff you and others posted on the old FADG thread. But I learn more, and have changed my mind more than I would care to admit to you, in trying to work my way through counter arguments to my arguments. I don't think, to recapitulate, being partisan is a sin; demonizing folk of other political persuasions is one; refusal to constantly try to rethink your political frames is another; trying to get the world to fit your ideology is yet another. Well, there I go again, making lists.
